23, 24, 25 марта во Владивостоке прошли краевые олимпиады «Olympic English- 2010» и конкурс для школьников по английскому языку «Top Translator 2010» или «Лучший переводчик 2010», организованные Институтом иностранных языков ВГУЭС.
Участникам конкурса было предложено перевести два текста: с английского языка на русский и с русского на английский. Тексты были достаточно сложными, а в распоряжении ребят предоставлялось ровно два часа. Но участники знали, за что боролись: призы конкурса — денежные суммы в 2, 3 и 5 тысяч рублей! Проверить свои знания и побороться за победу собралось более 70 учащихся из школ Владивостока и Приморского края.
Оценивало переводы школьников компетентное жюри, в состав которого вошло восемь человек. Это лучшие преподаватели кафедры межкультурных коммуникаций и переводоведения: член Союза переводчиков России и иностранные преподаватели, носители языка.
9 апреля в Институте иностранных языков ВГУЭС награждали старшеклассников - победителей этих двух краевых конкурсов. Поздравил ребят с успешным прохождением испытаний один из членов жюри конкурсов, американский преподаватель Института иностранных языков Дэвид Датчер. Дипломы и призы победителям вручила заместитель директора Института иностранных языков Ольга Шевцова.
Диплом I степени и денежный приз в размере 5 тысяч рублей присужден ученице 11 «А» класса МОУ СОШ № 251 Анне Ивановой за победу в конкурсе «Top Translator-2010». У нее же – диплом за победу в краевой олимпиаде по английскому языку, дающий право на зачисление на 2-ой курс дополнительной программы Института иностранных языков «Перевод в сфере профессиональной коммуникации (английский язык)». Аня уже являлась победителем этих конкурсов в 2009 году. И вот снова успех! Поздравляем Анну с новой победой!
